I've had the opportunity recently to help out a new brewery located in Gilbert, Arizona named Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. If you follow craft beer at all, you may recognize the name, as Ratebeer.com recently named them best new brewery in the world for 2013.
Like a lot of new breweries, they had tons of hurdles to cross in order to be able to open their doors. So much so, in fact, that they had a very limited budget for branding and any design work in general. So I have been helping them out as best as possible, working with their budget.
I helped standardize and create a proper format version of their main brand identity. The basic idea behind it, is for the logo to be in the shape of a sign, typically used at national parks and other wild life preserves. Aside from their main identity, I created a secondary logo for them, to be used in particular with their "Wild Series" of beers which are fermented with wild yeast, and I have also created identities for some of their actual beers themselves.
Aside from their brand and individual beer identities, I have also been helping with their promotions, in particular, for their special events. My favorite event that I have helped them out with has been their collaboration brew day with famed nomad brewer Mikkeller.
Mikkeller's brand identitiy is an interesting one. Their actual logo includes a sketch of Mikkel's face. So the idea for their collaboration was to create a similar style sketch of the Arizona Wilderness boys. This process involved, getting some photographs taken to turn into a pencil sketch. I then took each of their sketches and brought it into Photoshop to clean up, and build the rest of the event poster.
Finally, I also put together their online presence for them. They didn't require anything too extensive. So I created a single page website, with HTML and CSS and used some jQuery to get the animation effects. They also wanted to be able to update their taplist online on the fly. So I was able to set them up with a simple CMS solution so they can update the tap list and their upcoming events themselves. Visit their site here. or by clicking the image below.
